Melanin is a highly thermostable natural pigment structured in nanoparticles with a wide spectrum of properties including resistance to UV, protection against radiation, electromagnetic shielding, heavy metal capture and harbouring antioxidant and antimicrobial properties.
Algentech has unlocked the potential of melanin by achieving a technological breakthrough to produce high melanin yield in plants, providing a sustainable and natural alternative to the chemically synthesised form.

Endolysin
Bacteriophage Endolysin to fight against pathogenic bacteria, including Staphylococcus aureus

Bacteriophage endolysins are highly potent enzymes that selectively break down bacterial cell walls, offering a promising alternative to traditional antibiotics.
These enzymes effectively target and kill Staphylococcus species, including antibiotic-resistant strains MRSA, by rapidly degrading the peptidoglycan layer, leading to bacterial lysis. Their specificity and rapid action make them a valuable tool in combating bacterial infections while minimizing the risk of resistance development.
